GIVEAWAY – How to Cook Everything!

March 29, 2011 By: Serena

…(and I mean EVERYTHING)

via Mark Bittman

I am SO EXCITED to be doing this giveaway!  Let’s face it – I have a tiny apartment kitchen and limited time.  As much as I’d love to prepare a 4-hr meal, I won’t.  Enter Mark Bittman‘s How to Cook Everything (Tenth Anniversary Edition!).  Mark Bittman, my beloved New York Times food writer, is known for his non-fussy but super-yummy approach to food.  This book was recommended to be my three separate individuals, and once I purchased it, I was hooked. I read this book like a novel – it is that good.  Seriously, you learn how to cook EVERYTHING – and it’s quick, easy (no really) and delicious.  Right after I made a few recipes from this book, I knew I wanted to host a giveaway for it as well!

Would you like to WIN your very own copy?  Here’s how to enter:

Each of the below counts as a separate entry:

1. Like the Big Apple Nosh Facebook page and comment below!
2. Follow me on twitter and tweet the following:

I just entered to win Mark @Bittman ‘s book – How to Cook Everything, courtesy of @BigAppleNosh! Enter here!

and copy/paste the link below!
3. Tell your friends to enter this contest by linking to this post on your Facebook profile – and comment below!
4. Tell me your favorite strange food combination.

You have until 11:59pm EST this Friday, April 1st to enter. Good luck!

Disclosure: Despite my glowing review of this book, this contest is not sponsored by anyone else but me. I just love this book. And Mark Bittman.  Many will enter. Few will win. Make that one. One will win. Please enter all four ways. I especially want to know your favorite strange food combination.  And meet new twitter peeps. 🙂

  27. I don't think this is super strange, but it's the best I could think of: I like to snack on cucumbers with salt as I'm prepping them. I also love good fresh tomato slices with a little mayo and a little salt and lots of freshly ground black pepper. Also, pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate ice cream. I'm getting hungry.

  38. Great giveaway!! As for a strange food combo- does cottage cheese and yogurt count? As a kid I liked English muffins with jam and melted cheese.

  39. I tweeted.

  40. I don't think this is that weird. But my husband thinks it is bizarre. I love Mostaccioli Rigati pasta. But I only like to eat it and dip it into tomato sauce. (This dates back to when my mom would make her inside out manicoti with home made sauce. It had to simmer for hours and my brother and I would get impatient so she's let us sample like that to pacify us. We now consider it a favorite meal.) Now that I've put my inner weirdo on the inner webs. I'd love to win the cookbook!

  41. Try Anything Once Terri says:

I would LOVE this. I am need a new "go to" cookbook. I already follow you on both, but I will tweet now.

Strange food combo? Maybe ketchup and mayo, I know some people can't stand it and that it looks nasty but it taste great! Love it in a hamburger or use it for french fries, YUM. It's like a cross between french dressing and thousand island… the color even looks that way.

Seriously!?!?! Amazing giveaway! I like your FB page 🙂

Strangest food combination. Well I don't think it is strange, but anyone who sees me eating it does.

Two to three pieces of toast.
Then put either Mayo or Miracle Whip upon it.
Then cut into bite sized pieces.
Then put syrup upon it. EAT!

    Isn't that strange?

  68. I don't think there are many strange food combos that I like–I'm actually the opposite in that I don't like a lot of my foods to touch each other. But I'd say probably the weirdest thing I'll eat is french fries dipped in a Wendys frosty.

Mmmm, and now I crave Wendys!

  69. lavenderpug says:
