Hi Noshers! Happy Wednesday! Only 3 more days to the weeeeekend, woohoo! Got any fun weekend plans?

As for my weekend, I’m attending an event I’m really excited about – the NYC Food Film Festival.  Although this is the 5th year of the festival, I’ve never checked it out until now.  The name says it all – films about food, with the related food to munch on!  Best of all, this event benefits the Food Bank for NYC – a wonderful cause..  This event is right up my alley for several reasons:

1. I love films.  Or rather, movies – I don’t really know what constitutes a “film” vs. a “movie” but film sounds fancy and I’m not sure if I’m that fancy.  But yes, I love movies – all types and kinds.  And if it’s about food? Even better!
2. I love food.  ‘Nuff said.
3. I love immersive experiences.  In other words, I was the little nerdy girl who liked the Little House on the Prairie books and bought the Little House on the Prairie cookbook and made stuff from the cookbook so I could eat it while I read the books.  Yes, that was me.

Aaaaannnyway.  there are a number of films showing this weekend (starting tomorrow, actually!), and I’ll be checking out two of them:

Would you just look at that watermelon!  The Food Porn* Party promises to be “Extreme Eats + Closeups + Food Burlesque.”   Check out the link for a sampling of eats (including lobster, octopus and pastries, oh my!  Now this is a party I’m looking forward to.

I’ll also be attending:

Farm to Film to Table is going to be really fascinating for me – I admit I don’t really think too much about where my food comes from, but especially after having joined a CSA this season, I’m much more aware of sourcing and local farms.  I’m looking forward to learning more with this event.
