(aka the blog is full of sweepstakes WIN this week).
Hi Noshers! A huge thank you to everyone who entered the Junior’s Dessert Cookbook Giveaway! With the help of my trusty friend random.org, a winner was picked! You should totally go over to her blog and give her a virtual high-5! Congratulations!
Bummed that you didn’t win? Not to worry – my blog is FULL of win this week. Yep, that’s right, I’m hosting another giveaway – this time for a $20 Seamless Gift Card! This particular giveaway is sponsored by Seamless and its CRAVED Restaurant Awards:
Hi Noshers! Happy Wednesday! Only 3 more days to the weeeeekend, woohoo! Got any fun weekend plans?
(Just one of the events at the NYC Food Film Festival. All graphics sourced from festival site)
As for my weekend, I’m attending an event I’m really excited about – the NYC Food Film Festival. Although this is the 5th year of the festival, I’ve never checked it out until now. The name says it all – films about food, with the related food to munch on! Best of all, this event benefits the Food Bank for NYC – a wonderful cause.. This event is right up my alley for several reasons:
Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? NYC had really awesome weather on Saturday – I had to bring my summer clothes back out. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! (Brownie points for anyone who names that quote!). I had mentioned last week that Butter Lane Cupcakes had named me their Blogger of the Week, so of course I had to check it out. There I am, holding my official sign
Any fun plans this weekend? The weather in NYC is turning into that lovely Autumn briskness (before it transforms into “harsh Winter chill”). This weekend I’ll be stopping by Butter Lane, where I’m their featured Blogger of the Week (!) and then heading down South (America) for a few days. Don’t miss me too much! (ha). I have some fun posts scheduled anyway, so it’s like I never left.
I’m loving this week’s Fun Fact – and it ties in perfectly with the giveaway I’m currently holding. Have you entered yet?
Sunday, October 9th, is National Dessert Day, and October is National Dessert Month!
Late last night, my phone made its “Beep beep” notification that only meant one thing – a twitter mention. Imagine my surprise when I clicked on my twitter icon to see this:
How fun! As blogger of the week, Big Apple Nosh will be featured in Butter Lane’s East Village shop for a week, and I get 50% off all cupcakes!
I was completely taken by surprise since I didn’t ask/apply to be Blogger of the Week, but it is so nice to know that this lil’ blog is getting noticed around NYC! I’m going to do my happy dance…..NOW.
Thank you, Butter Lane, for selecting me as your Blogger of the Week! Can’t wait to stop by this weekend and pick up some scrumptious 50% off cupcakes.
See my previous write-up of Butter Lane Cupcakes here.
When I first started Big Apple Nosh last year, I never dreamed that I’d have the opportunity to attend fabulousfoodieevents, meet reallycoolcelebri-chefs, and experiment with unique and scrumptious ingredients. It’s been such an AMAZING time so far – and I want to thank all of you for your comments, engagement, and suggestions, not to mention following Big Apple Nosh on Facebook and twitter! You guys rock!
As a more tangible show of my appreciation, I am so excited to give away an advanced copy of Junior’s Dessert Cookbook: 75 Recipes for Cheesecakes, Pies, Cookies, Cakes and More. Yes, you read that right – more. As in “more dessert” – um, yes please! The publishers of the cookbook were kind enough to include a giveaway copy of the book along with one for me to review, and I just wanted to share the love. I’ve perused the prize, and trust me – you want this! I don’t know if I want to try making the black-and-white cookies first or the strawberry cheesecake or the rugelach or. or… mmmmmm…. The recipes are clearly written, with a variety of complexity levels so even the most novice baker or chef can use this book. And the pictures are just delicious.
Interested in winning your very own copy? I know you are! I’m using the nifty new Rafflecopter for this giveaway – thank you Kim for the invite!
I’m making it easy – you only need to leave a blog comment (and acknowledge you did that on Rafflecopter), but if you want extra entries you can do that too
GOOD LUCK!
Disclosure: 2 copies of the book were provided to me, one to review and one to give away.
PS: You must use the Rafflecopter widget for your entry to count! If you comment but don’t click that you did on Rafflecopter, it won’t count. So make sure your entry is included!
Heehee haha. But wait, it gets even MORE delicious!
This past weekend I attended the New York City Wine & Food FestivalGrand Tasting. Presented by Shop Rite, this all-day festival featured scrumptious culinary delights from 50+ restaurants, chefs and exhibitors. Additionally, the event featured cooking demonstrations and book signings from my favorite chef-lebrities (check out my totally sneaky shot of the back of Paula Deen’s head later in this post – what, she was getting out of the car). I ate, I drank, and chatted with chefs (including Fabio – guess what his favorite surprise ingredient is!) – want to know the details? Keep reading!
