Happy Friday, everyone! These past few weeks have been crazy busy for me; hopefully I’ll have a bit of a break by the end of next week! Any fun weekend plans? Superbowl parties?
I love fondue but haven’t really eaten it since I gave up dairy at home. But cheesy white whine fondue with huge hunks of crusty bread is pretty much the best thing ever!
In 8th grade, I took French in school. We had one project to cook a French meal. Mine included fondue and it did not look anything nearly as delicious as that picture. In fact, I think it had congealed back into the original brick of cheese. that’s my share for the week
We fondue all the time… but mainly just Swiss style with bread and cheese… no meats and rarely desserts. Cause melted cheese combined with wine is just plain AMAZING!
Hope life gets to slow down a little bit!
I love fondue! I was just telling my husband the other day that we should go to our local fondue restaurant for a date night before his parents leave for HK. When we do make it at home, we use 2 parts cheddar for 1 part swiss cheese, mix in some salsa and chopped jalapeno peppers and half a can of light beer for a delicious cheese fondue.
Wow, I did not know that! Cool! I’ve actually only had fondue once (maybe twice?) in my life before. And it was only the chocolate kind. I definitely want to try out more in the future, and it seems that February is the best month to do so!
I’m going to wake up at 4am to watch it at an expat pub here in Shanghai with my husband. We are crazy. lol
