Fun Fact Friday

TGI FRIDAY, Noshers!!  Is it just me, or is the first week back after vacation especially tough?  In definitely looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!  What are your weekend plans?

Today’s fact was suggested by tweetpea @wanderlustblogs, who suggested a fun fact about chili peppers:

The spiciest pepper in the world is the Ghost Chili Pepper – or Naga Bhut Jolokia. It is so spicy that it’s been used in weapons – whoaaaa….

Are you a spicy food person? I can handle spice pretty well, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to go near a Ghost Chili Pepper!

Have any fun facts you’d like me to share? Let me know and I’ll feature them (and you) on the blog!

  1. This is a fun fact! I love spicy food, too, but have never tried a ghost pepper :)

  2. OMG, I ate some buffalo wings that were seasoned with ghost chiles, and it was definitely the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten. My brothers were there, and it got a little competitive, but I’m pretty sure I ate the most wings! The next day I went for a run and had to stop halfway because my lungs/esophagus were burning. I do NOT recommend these for the uninitiated.

  3. I gave my FIL some ghost pepper seeds this year, so they’re currently growing in his pepper garden! :)
