I admit – I was going to post the risotto photo for National Mushroom Month.  Then I learned it was National Rice Month and I knew it was meant to be. Yum.

I absolutely LOVE mushrooms, but I know some people aren’t big fans.  So now I ask you, dear Noshers:

Happy Friday, everyone!  Well, we are well into September, and fall is upon us.  What fun fall activities do you have planned? In my neck of the woods, this season feels like leaves crunching underfoot, chunky sweaters, the tension of an apple just as it’s plucked from its tree, and warm cider.  YUM!

This week is Vegetarian Awareness Week.

While I’m definitely not a vegetarian (hellooooo, Pig Island), my Veggie Resolution, where I prepared vegetables in 20 different ways, definitely enhanced my appreciation for vegetables.  Why, they could be downright delicious! Crazy, isn’t it?

Today is National Acorn Squash Day.

Ok, I’ve made butternut squash into a delicious hearty soup.  I recently got into spaghetti squash.  But what is the best way to eat acorn squash? Inquiring minds want to know.  So tell me, reader:

What’s your favorite way to prepare acorn squash?

This past weekend, I went to a magical place called Pig Island.   As if in a dream, I was surrounded by chefs doing what they do best – creating culinary delights that tantalized the palate.  But these weren’t just any creations – they were all centered around one of my favorite meats (besides duck) – PIG.  Pulled pork, pork and beans, sliders, and bacon….oh, the bacon.  There were will be no words that I can write that will adequately describe the droolworthy nature of that day – so I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.  Intrigued?  Please, read on…
