During a recent visit to the Bay area (hey SF peeps!!), I had the pleasure of visiting Bi-Rite Creamery. Bi-Rite makes their own ice cream, soft serve and bakery goods and features both traditional and unique (and delish!) flavors. Bi-Rite aims for its ice cream flavors to have five ingredients or less – the result of which is pure, simple but intense flavor. The line was out the door when I visited, and I soon found out why!
I ordered the olive oil and sweet fresh basil flavors – I’m a huge fan of the creamy and luxurious feel of olive oil ice cream! Bi-Rite’s version did not disappoint, and the fresh and light scoop of basil complemented the olive oil scoop perfectly.
Next time you find yourself in San Francisco, do yourself a favor and stop by Bi-Rite (it’s also right near one of my favorite bakeries – Tartine!). Let me know what you think!
Are you a fan of “unique” flavors like olive oil, or you are an ice cream traditionalist?
