What’s your favorite type of cheese?

If you’ve been following along with my foodie adventures, you’ll know by now that my favorite food in the world is CHEESE.  Yup, I can truthfully say that I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t like!  So when I saw an online coupon a few months ago for use with Artisanal’s Cheese Collections, I had to purchase it.  It was the right thing to do, wouldn’t you agree?

I perused and perused the list – tough job, but someone’s got to do it – before finally deciding on the Artisanal CheeseClock Collection, which arrived in this lovely basket:

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a cheese class at the Artisanal Premium Cheese Center.  This class, titled “The Great Iberian Peninsula: The Glorious Cheeses & Wines of Spain and Portugal,” featured wines and cheese from, of course, Spain and Portugal – yum!  I admit I am most familiar with French cheeses, and my knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese cheeses didn’t extend much beyond Manchego.  So I was especially excited to learn more about the cheeses (and wines) from the Iberian peninsula!

Our instructor for the evening was Candela Prol, who was very well versed in both cheese and wine:

NoshGirl confession: when I was in school, I was a huge nerd and proud of it!  I love classes, learning, taking notes, even (gasp!) tests.  So when I attended Artisanal’s Italian Cheese & Wine Class with my sister @cheezplease, I was especially excited! Two of my passions CHEESE and learning, combined.

Well, Artisanal has done it again.  Just when I think the cheese selection that arrives at my doorstep can’t comprise a more perfect ensemble of perfection, Artisanal steps it up.  This month’s Cheese of the Month Club shipment includes one of my “Top 5″ cheeses, as well as 3 new selections that were new to me – I just LOVE learning about new cheeses!  Would you like to learn more as well? It’s my favorite time of the month – Artisanal‘s Cheese of the Month Club time!  In my last Artisanal post, I introduced you to four extremely mouthwatering cheeses.  Well, Artisanal has really outdone itself, because just when I thought it couldn’t get any better (and I’ve tried a LOT of cheese in my life), this month’s cheese plate is absolutely stellar.  I literally could not pick a favorite – each selection this month was jaw-dropping, drool-inducing, amazing.  I am seriously sad that less than half of each cheese remains.  Seriously. Sad.

But on to the cheeses! You will see them here in their full pre-Noshgirl-frenzy, glory!

I am so excited to share these photos with you!  My sister got me a 3-month subscription to Artisanal‘s Cheese of the Month Club for my birthday.  My first delivery arrived in July, and I am just giddy with excitement!  Cheese is my favorite food in the world (even more than dessert, can you imagine?) – if I could only have one food for the rest of my life, I would choose cheese.  I would never tire from the variety of textures, aromas, and flavor profiles; I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t like! As a restaurant devoted entirely to cheese,  Artisanal is one of my favorite places to dine in the city. But enough about me, let’s get on with the CHEESE!

Oh, the goodness that was waiting inside this box was tantalizing:
