Smorgasburg at Whole Foods: Milk Truck Grilled Cheese

Events / Giveaways / Partnerships

Last month I had shared my Smorgasburg at  Whole Foods experience with you, when I was invited to sample the complex and mouthwatering sandwiches of vendor Cemita’s.   For those of you who are new to the Nosh blog (or those who, like me, have impressively inadequate short-term memory), Smorgasburg at Whole Foods Market Bowery was launched early this year and each month offers one vendor from Smorgasburg space to introduce their offerings in a cafe setting!  Since many Smorgasburg vendors don’t have storefronts, this is a fantastic opportunity to introduce their products to a wider audience.   Much to my delight, I was invited back again for Smorgasburg at  Whole Foods‘s second featured vendor – Milk Truck Grilled Cheese!

I must admit that Milk Truck Grilled Cheese and I have met before…

Happy Monday, Noshers!  How did you all spend the weekend? It sure was a scorcher in NYC – phew! Definitely called for a short trip to Long Beach and some lounging!

BBQ: Fatty ‘Cue

Eating Out

Big Apple Nosh

I had been wanting to try Fatty ‘Cue for a while now – a restaurant specializing in smokey, Southeast Asian-inspired goodness of the pork specialization (they also feature other meats). First of all, I love BBQ – it’s a serious love, and one that I’d like to believe is requited.  Second, any restaurant with “Fatty” in its name has to possess a certain level of deliciousness.  So on one sunny NYC afternoon, off I went with an eating buddy to check this place out.

The first thing we noticed were that there were only two of us, and about 8 things we wanted to try on the menu:

American: Open Door Gastropub

Eating Out

Big Apple Nosh

I recently received a discount code for 50% off brunch at Open Door Gastropub – and let’s face it; I love a good deal!  I’ve passed by Open Door many a time. From the sidewalk, it looks like any normal gastropub.  I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in for brunch and saw a huge dining area in the back.  My eating buddy and I perused the menu – we had about 8 selections to choose from:

American: Crif Dogs

Eating Out

Every once in a while, I come across an oldie but goodie.  Crif Dogs, a casual hot dog joint that I frequented in my college days, is one of those old friends.  Offering unique hot dog toppings with names such as the Spicy Redneck and the Morning Jersey, Crif Dogs is great for lunch, dinner or that late night snack.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera on me, so I used my good ol’  smart phone – excuse the graininess!  One of the first things you’ll notice is the mural saucily staring back at you:
