Event: Milk Street Cafe Preview – CLOSED

Events / Giveaways / Partnerships
Unfortunately, Milk Street Cafe has CLOSED! πŸ™

This past Monday, I attended the press preview of Milk Street Cafe in NYC’s Financial District.Β  Being quite familiar with FiDi, I was really excited to explore this new dining option.Β  Milk Street Cafe originated in Boston (any Boston readers familiar with it?) and this is their first foray into a second location.Β  At 23,000 square feet, this was no small hole-in-the-wall!

As part of the preview, we were of course greeted with a selection of scrumptious eats:

Hello, is this thing on?

Oh hi, everyone!Β  My name is NoshGirl, and it’s been a week since my last blog post.Β  While the responsibilities of a full-time job and a lil’ side trip to NOLA (food pictures coming soon!) kept me from blogging as much as I’d like, I’m back, ya’ hear me? I’m baaaaack! Today I’d like to share a hidden find in Midtown – Menchanko Tei.

The storefront is a little nondescript, but what drew my eating buddy and me in was the promise of an authentic noodle dish that was the food of sumo wrestlers.Β  I mean come on, how could we resist that?

Casual: FoodParc – CLOSED

I’ll admit it – eating out in a group is sometimes a big pain.Β  You’ve got diversity of palates and appetites, different price points, and the dreaded awkward multi-person bill split at the very end (please don’t tell me that I’m the only one who has handed a waiter 7 people’s credit cards before).Β  We do it because it’s great to catch up with friends, or you’re eating with coworkers, or well, it’s just more fun to eat with others.

Well, the recently opened FoodParc, a casual dining option in Chelsea, addresses those issues.Β  With four different food areas (burgers, Chinese, Italian and cafe) and a unique and simple ordering system, FoodParc offers superb quality at affordable prices. I recently created my own four-course meal at FoodParc, including that mouth-watering burger above. What else did I devour? Keep reading…

Posting will be light next week, as I won’t have my laptop with me (how will I survive??).Β  But continuing this week’s spotlight on South-East Asian cuisine, earlier in the summer I visited Kuta – a β€œfancy” Indonesian restaurant on the Lower East Side.Β  While Indonesian food is distinct in its own right, there is some overlap with Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine.Β  I had a Singaporean with me that night, and he was prepared for the real deal.Β  How did Kuta live up?
