Cooking / Eating In, Events / Giveaways / Partnerships

Happy Wednesday, Noshers!  I recently partnered with Sprouts market for a 4th of July DIY project, where I was given free reign to come up with my own DIY activity related to the holiday. I thought and thought, but the answer was pretty obvious – patriotic CUPCAKES!! I love baking, decorating and most importantly eating sweets, so this was a perfect fit.  Today I’ll be walking you through some cute and patriotic cupcake designs just in time for the holiday :).

But first, let me just rave about how awesome new-to-me Sprouts is – coming from the NYC/NJ area, I’d never been to a Sprouts before.  When I made my way to my local Sprouts to purchase ingredients for this project, I was pleasantly surprised and super impressed with the store – high quality produce at amazing prices, hard-to-find fruit (including my favorite cotton candy grapes, which I could only find at Whole Foods in NYC), their own brand for staples such as cereal, granola, cocoa, and an awesome selection of organic ingredients.  I admit I wasn’t familiar with Sprouts prior to this shopping trip, but I’ll definitely be returning.

Now onto the cupcakes! Continue Reading

zoodles-avocado-cream-2

Happy Holidays, Noshers!  The past few weeks (and upcoming weeks) have been full of parties, eating, getting-together, and of course general merriment.  What’s on your holiday bakelist? OR more importantly, your holiday eatlist??

Today I’m super excited to be giveaway one of my FAVORITE products from the past year – the Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer!  If you follow along on the BAN blog, you’ll know that this little device has changed my life.  The Spiralizer has resulted in my eating a lot more vegetables (as a former avowed veggie-averse foodie, this is huge) in the form of “zoodles”, or zucchini noodles.  I’ve also used the Spiralizer to make apple chips, baked potato chips, curly fries and much more. It’s like a Playdoh toy for adults, except the finished product is much more delicious.

But don’t take MY word for it – try it for yourself!  Thanks to the lovely folks at Paderno, I am giving away TWO of the newest Spiralizer model – the four-blade version!  The four-blade Spiralizer was just released in September, and features the newest blade that makes angel hair, yum!

Two of my favorite go-to recipes with the Spiralizer are zucchini noodles with avocado cream sauce: Continue Reading

Boo-tastic Halloween Ghosts with Driscoll’s!

Cooking / Eating In, Events / Giveaways / Partnerships

halloween-strawberries-2Happy Wednesday, Noshers!  It’s a bit of a gloomy day here in NYC, but there are two reasons to turn that frown upside down – first, I’m giving away a $50 Whole Foods gift card in celebration of American Cheese Month (enter to win here!).  Second, I’m sharing these super cute (they could be scary, but I decided to cute these up) Boo-Tastic Halloween ghosts!   I first learned of this simple but fun activity when Driscoll’s reached out to me, and I’m happy I gave them a try :).  These friendly faces are a super-delicious (and healthier) Halloween treat for kids and kids-at-heart like myself. Plus, making these boo-tastic ghosts is a fun activity to do with any young cooks in your life – especially being creative with the faces!  I tried to make all of my strawberry ghosts smiley and just a little kooky.

Here’s how to create your own Boo-Tastic ghosts to brighten your Halloween!
