Drive-By Post: Valentine’s Day PEEPS :)

Events / Giveaways / Partnerships

It’s Valentine’s Day this Friday!ย  And you know what that means? It means I’ve been stuffing my face with these:

Valentines-Peeps-1

The peeps at PEEPS were kind enough to send some of their products created especially for Valentine’s Day.ย  Look at all that pink and red and white! And brown for chocolate, yum.ย  Some of my favorites included the dark chocolate covered raspberry flavored hearts, the chocolate dipped strawberry chicks, and the chocolate bears ๐Ÿ™‚

Other Valentine’s PEEPS products include:

  • Cherries Drizzled and Dipped in Chocolate
  • Marshmallow Heartsย  (or as I call them, big pink puffy hearts)
  • Chocolate (milk or dark) Covered Raspberry Flavored Hearts
  • Strawberry Crรจme Flavored Marshmallow Hearts
  • Vanilla Crรจme Flavored Marshmallow Hearts
  • Sugar-Free Marshmallow Hearts (my dad would especially appreciate these)

I’m also planning to share the love with my sister, who is an ever bigger PEEPS fan than I am.ย  I remember when I only knew PEEPS as an Easter basket treat – I’m glad that they are now available for multiple holidays. Drool.

Note: Products provided by PEEPS; the choice to post and ensuing opinions are my own.

A Very Big Apple Nosh Thanksgiving

Cooking / Eating In

BigAppleNosh_Thanksgiving-5

Happy post-Thanksgiving Hump Day, Noshers!ย  Well, “happy” is taken with a grain of salt following a shortened work-week, isn’t it? Today I wanted to share some Instagram images of the Nosh family Thanksgiving.ย  Every year, my extended family gathers at my aunt’s place for a gut-busting meal of traditional Turkey-day dishes as well as our “fusion” Asian additions.ย  This year was no exception.ย  As is tradition, you can see in the first photo that my Uncle H is in charge of carving the turkey and the whole roast baby suckling pig (yes, we get a turkey AND a whole pig), much to the delight of the kidsters.

All the food is set up on my Aunt F’s kitchen island – I couldn’t fit it all in one photo, but you get the idea.ย  Clockwise from the left corner, that is Chinese mushrooms, noodles, turkey, mixed roasted vegetables, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, the very edge of the container containing homemade Swedish meatballs, asparagus, cranberry sauce, roasted baby pig, hoisin sauce, and shrimp: Continue Reading

Redux Recipe Post: Salted Caramel Pie!

Cooking / Eating In

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving, Noshers!ย  Ever since I posted this recipe for salted caramel pie two years ago, it has been one of the most-searched posts on the BAN blog.ย  Considering I won a company bake-off with it and the fact that it’s SUPER EASY, I thought it would be perfect for those procrastinators among you who, like myself, are still searching for that perfect Thanksgiving dessert.ย  Enjoy!

PS – You still have until midnight tonight to enter to win Top of the Rock tickets and dining cash!ย  If you haven’t entered yet, what are you waiting for? If you already have entered, you can still gain a new entry today via twitter! Good luck, y’all!ย  Hope to see a few lucky Noshers at the Top of the Rock!

I had previously mentioned that I made a salted caramel pie for the Pie Party Live potluck, and a few readers asked me to share the recipe – so here you are! I first saw this recipe in my latest copy of Food & Wine magazine, who in turn was given the recipe from simplethings sandwich & pie shop in LA. With only 7 ingredients and a minimum of steps, I know this pie had the potential to be easy and delicious. And I was right! It was so fun and exciting when a few foodie personalities I “knew” online came up to me during the party to tell me how much they liked the pie. Would you like to try some salted caramel pie for your own? You won’t regret it!
