I’ll be the first to admit that I’ll never be a vegan.  I respect and admire those who can adopt a completely vegan diet, but I love my favorite foods too much. I love cheese. I love oysters. I love cured meats.  I could go on and on.  However, despite my omnivore ways, I’m always open to trying new-to-me restaurants, and Cafe Gratitude in KC recently caught my eye.

Dessert: Lula’s Sweet Apothecary

I admit, when an eating buddy suggested a vegan, non-dairy dessert place, I cringed a bit.  I consider myself pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but ice cream is supposed to be full of dairy fat, eggs, and other decidedly non-vegan elements.  Still, I was intrigued, so I gave Lula’s Sweet Apothecary a try.
