A plate of deliciousness from Vendy Cup winner Royal Grill Halal Food!

This past weekend, I had the delicious opportunity to attend the Vendy Awards.  In its 14th year, the Vendys celebrates New York City’s top street vendors representing a diverse array of cuisines.  With 25 vendors evaluated across 5 categories, it was an amazing eat-stravaganza!  I posted my day-of eats on my Instagram story, but if you missed out, have no fear – I’m recapping here.

The first and newest Vendy category was “Best Breakfast,” and what I *loved* about this year’s nominees was that the offerings were so much more than your traditional eggs and waffles.  I’m talking Chinese rice rolls, tamales, tacos, and more! See for yourself.

What are you doing next Saturday?  Hopefully, the answer is attending the Vendys! 🙂

I am super stoked to be attending the 14th annual Vendy Awards next Saturday, the 22nd, and I hope you’ll join me there!  This is actually my *very first time* attending the Vendys, and I can’t WAIT. I’ve heard such amazing things about the event itself, and I just love that it celebrates NYC’s diverse street food culture all in one place. With 25 vendors and unlimited food and drink included in your ticket, you know it will be a fun (and delicious!) day.

During a recent visit to the Bay area (hey SF peeps!!), I had the pleasure of visiting Bi-Rite Creamery.  Bi-Rite makes their own ice cream, soft serve and bakery goods and features both traditional and unique (and delish!) flavors.  Bi-Rite aims for its ice cream flavors to have five ingredients or less – the result of which is pure, simple but intense flavor.  The line was out the door when I visited, and I soon found out why!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit EMP Summer House in East Hampton.  EMP is the more casual summer pop-up of Eleven Madison Park, with a relaxed atmosphere and seasonally inspired menu.  This is the second year of EMP Summer House – I visited last year as well and was curious to see how year two compared!

The complimentary transportation to and from was a nice touch:

I’ve been obsessed with Seamore’s lately – a casual seafood restaurant with locations throughout NYC (and they just opened a new location right near my workplace – woohoo!).  With a simple menu featuring favorites like guac, lobster mac and cheese (yum – this is SO GOOD), and fish tacos, there’s something for everyone.  During my last visit, I had such a difficult time choosing what to order, but finally decided on the summer gazpacho and the blackened shrimp tacos.  I was not disappointed.
