Once in a while, I’m in the mood for a lighter brunch option. This is not one of those times :).  Today, I’m here to share my enthusiasm for strictly traditional brunch fare – none other than the chicken & French Toast stack at Maison Pickle 🙂

As you can see from the above, the chicken & French Toast stack is not for the faint of heart.  I prepped both mentally and appetite-wise for this very dining experience.  My preparations paid off, as I was treated to a generous (to say the least! ha!) portion of fluffy yet dense Challah French Toast topped with flavorful buttermilk fried chicken, nitrate-free bacon, maple butter, and syrup.

Meanwhile the diner next to me ordered a half grapefruit. She’s missing out!

If you’re looking for a light meal of fruit and Greek yogurt (and don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely a time for that – or so I’m told), Maison Pickle is not your place. However, if you’re ready to tackle the Everest that is their Fried Chicken – n- Toast, you can’t find go wrong. Let me know what you think!

If you’ve been following along on the blog, you’ll know that I love a good food event (evidence #1 – see my Vendy Awards recap from last weekend!). I’m stoked to attend another fabulous festival this coming weekend – The Big Chocolate Show! Featuring the world’s best chocolatiers, chefs, artisans and experts, this event will feature tons of tastings, fun demonstrations, creative classes, and chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!

If you’re in NYC, check it out – and let me know so I can keep an eye out for you!  Tickets can be purchased here.

A plate of deliciousness from Vendy Cup winner Royal Grill Halal Food!

This past weekend, I had the delicious opportunity to attend the Vendy Awards.  In its 14th year, the Vendys celebrates New York City’s top street vendors representing a diverse array of cuisines.  With 25 vendors evaluated across 5 categories, it was an amazing eat-stravaganza!  I posted my day-of eats on my Instagram story, but if you missed out, have no fear – I’m recapping here.

The first and newest Vendy category was “Best Breakfast,” and what I *loved* about this year’s nominees was that the offerings were so much more than your traditional eggs and waffles.  I’m talking Chinese rice rolls, tamales, tacos, and more! See for yourself.

When I visited Ireland last year, I spent a few days at the Park Hotel Kenmare while sightseeing around the Ring of Kerry (I highly recommend checking out the Wild Atlantic Way – aka the West coast – of Ireland by the way; it’s breathtaking). Built in 1897, the Park Hotel Kenmare is situated on Kenmare Bay with mountain views, tons of scenic walks (or as I like to call them – “hike lites”), a delicious restaurant, and a resident horse :). The hotel itself is tucked away in a quiet and serene location but still centrally located to local sights.  Lucky for you, I captured some moments from my brief but memorable stay 😉 :

What are you doing next Saturday?  Hopefully, the answer is attending the Vendys! 🙂

I am super stoked to be attending the 14th annual Vendy Awards next Saturday, the 22nd, and I hope you’ll join me there!  This is actually my *very first time* attending the Vendys, and I can’t WAIT. I’ve heard such amazing things about the event itself, and I just love that it celebrates NYC’s diverse street food culture all in one place. With 25 vendors and unlimited food and drink included in your ticket, you know it will be a fun (and delicious!) day.
